The Continuum of Care at Footprints Beachside Recovery

A man sharing his experience with his outpatient drug addiction support group.

When you break a bone, most people see the cast and don’t think about all the healing taking place underneath the surface. For instance, breaks heal when threads of bone cells bridge together again. Our point is that the healing process doesn’t stop once the cast is put on. There’s more to the journey.

The same is true for addiction recovery. When it’s mentioned, many people think of a 30-day residential program as the beginning and end of treatment. But that’s only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to addiction rehab. Just like when you break a bone, there are more connections and transitions within treatment that lead to lasting recovery.

How do we know this? Because at Footprints Beachside Recovery, we’ve experienced addiction ourselves and know that it takes a full continuum of care to heal and maintain long-term sobriety.

The Importance of a Continuum of Care Approach to Addiction Treatment

Why is a continuum of care for addiction treatment important? When it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, experts agree that longer, more structured treatments mean better results. Addiction is a marathon not a sprint, so it’s crucial to provide people support at the different stages of their recovery.

For example, at the start, recovering addicts might need help managing cravings and withdrawal symptoms. While those further along in recovery might need help adjusting to regular life again.

Our Levels of Addiction Treatment Care

At Footprints Beachside Recovery, our continuum of care is an approach to addiction rehab that uses a personalized approach to guide you to lasting recovery. It isn’t something that happens over night or even after 30 days of inpatient treatment. Each step takes time, patience and balance. We even offer trauma informed and dual diagnosis addiction treatment.

Our levels of addiction treatment care include:

1. Detox

The fear of withdrawal symptoms is one of the leading reasons why people don’t seek treatment. Our detox program puts you or your loved one in the hands of professionals. Withdrawal symptoms are safely managed, and your health and safety are our top priority.

Our detox program starts with a comprehensive assessment of your physical and mental health. After getting more information about your history of substance abuse, we can find out the best approach for your unique needs. If you need medically supervised detox, we will recommend to a local detox center with a more medical focus.

2. Gender-Specific Day/Night Treatment

Once you’ve completed detox, you’ll transition into our day/night treatment with gender-specific housing. We offer a luxurious, safe and therapeutic environment for men and women where your main focus will be on recovery and healing. You’ll learn new ways to cope with stress to help manage cravings and prevent relapse. Plus, there will be a variety of social activities with people who understand your struggle.

Since not every addiction is the same, we offer 30, 60 and 90-day holistic addiction treatment. Our team will work with you to discover which option is best for your personal needs.

3. Outpatient Addiction Treatment in Treasure Island, FL

For people that complete our day/night treatment, additional support is needed to transition back to normal life. That’s why we offer our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

With a stronger focus on therapy and counseling, you’ll work on your relapse prevention skills. Outpatient addiction treatment is a great option for people looking to advance their recovery while still handling outside responsibilities. It’s also a responsible way for you to regain accountability in your life during your recovery journey.

4. Sober Living Options

There are times when reaching lasting recovery means easing your transition back into the real world. To do this, you’ll have the opportunity to live at our sober living homes in Largo, Florida. Our sober living program is designed to give you more independence and incorporate more structure into your life to prepare for lasting recovery. This final step in our continuum of care is meant to help you find a healthy and fulfilling life after substance abuse and addiction treatment.
